A Level – Edexcel 

Mathematics is challenging, rewarding and fun. It is both logical and creative and is a strong subject for developing your critical thinking, reasoning and problem-solving skills.  

A Level Further Mathematics is also available as an enrichment opportunity.  

Assessment 

Exams will be taken at the end of Year 13. They consist of three 2 hour written examinations, which are all equally weighted. 

Where Next 

A Level Mathematics is a facilitating subject. It provides a firm foundation for all scientific, technical, engineering and mathematical careers.  

Mathematics and Further Mathematics will help facilitate entry into a number of higher education programmes and career pathways. These include careers as an Accountant, Actuary, Computer Programmer/ Science, Medicine, Engineering, Investment Manager, as a Lawyer, Government Researcher, Numerical Analyst, Statistician, Teacher, Market Researcher, Banking, Space/Aircraft Industries, Consultancy, Games Developer, Construction and Geology.
